Phase I of the project consisted of a complete demolition and reconstruction of the loading area to the rear of the Prospector dining hall at UNCC.  Unloading of delivery trucks was difficult due to problems with the old loading docks and lack of maneuvering space.  Improvements consisted of 2,000 square yards of six inch thick reinforced concrete pavement, new loading dock with three leveler pits, and 1,200 square feet of cantilever concrete retaining wall.  All new sidewalks were constructed from brick pavers.  A crosswalk at the concrete truck access was stamped and stained to match the brick pavers.  Construction cost was approximately $500,000. Project duration was February, 2013 until November, 2013.

Armstrong Glen was tasked with completing Phase II of the Library Lane Prospector Service Yard Improvements.  Phase II will consist of grading and paving to match Phase I improvements, new sidewalk, new curb and gutter, and new storm drainage.  The entrance near Burson building required a new walkway as well as a newly constructed retaining wall.  Construction completed in 2015.
