William Armstrong served as design engineer and engineer-of-record for the design of a 150 foot long, three-span vehicular bridge over the Norfolk Southern Railroad. The bridge is located on Dwight Evans Road near the intersection with Woodbridge Center Drive. The bridge superstructure consists of composite rolled steel beams with cast-in-place concrete deck. The superstructure is supported on a steel H-piling foundation. In accordance with railroad specifications, a three foot thick and fifteen foot tall reinforced concrete crash wall was cast around the H-pile bents closest to the tracks.
Bridge construction was completed in 1988.
