The purpose of the Ashley Park/Westerly Hills Neighborhood Improvement Project was to upgrade existing roadways, curb and gutter, sidewalks and utility service.
For this project, Armstrong Glen, P.C. provided surveying, conceptual plan development, engineering design, public involvement, utility coordination, and NCDOT coordination. The Ashley Park/Westerly Hills NIP was one of the largest neighborhood projects ever undertaken by the City of Charlotte. The two neighborhoods consist of over 100 streets and approximately 2,400 single-family residences. The project included 9,600 linear feet of concrete sidewalk to provide connectivity throughout the neighborhoods. These improvements allow pedestrian access to churches, parks, bus stops and retail establishments. Walking loops were also created in and around the neighborhoods. In addition, over 23,400 linear feet of curb and gutter was replaced.
Construction Costs was $7,000,000.
