Provided modeling, preliminary planning, engineering design, construction drawings, and specifications related to channel improvements and culvert replacements along Greentree Drive, Cavendish Court, Cloister Drive, and Pickwick Lane.

This project used an existing lake for regional storm water detention with a “first flush” by-pass. The “first flush” bypass allowed the more polluted initial 0.5 inches of runoff to by-pass the lake to improve the water quality of the lake. The purpose of the project was to control runoff in areas of a 335-acre (0.524 sq. mi.) drainage basin that flooded regularly.

Hydrologic and hydraulic models were created using the Corp of Engineers HEC-1 Flood Hydrograph Package, Corp of Engineers HEC-2 hydraulic analysis program, and XP-SWMM. Project construction cost was $1,900,000. Project duration: May 1996 to July 1998.
