Located along Elm Lane in Charlotte, the Mecklenburg County greenway abutting Four Mile Creek required a pedestrian bridge, adjacent to the existing vehicular bridge, for access across the creek.
For this project, Armstrong Glen, P.C. provided hydrologic and hydraulic analysis as well as bridge design for the new bridge.
The proposed improvements include the construction of a 5-foot wide, 140-foot span steel bowstring truss bridge. The bridge was never constructed due to lack of funding but the project was designed to 90% drawings.
Construction was estimated to be $300,000.
