Armstrong Glen investigated the condition of the existing timber Guyon Moore Creek bridge on Goose Hollow Road in York, SC, and performed a hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of the bridge. The results of this analysis indicated a serious problem with the bridge overtopping during the 25-year storm event. Therefore, the bridge was redesigned as a 50 foot span hollow core slab concrete bridge with reinforced concrete abutments. Deck width is thirty feet. The re-design of 600 linear feet of roadway was included in our scope.
Armstrong Glen scope of services also included permitting, cost estimating, advertising, bidding, construction management and construction observation. Total construction cost was $424,105.00. Construction was completed in August of 2009.
