Located just outside of downtown Charlotte, the Kenilworth-Romany project encompasses an urban watershed of approximately 233 acres. The project area includes a part of the Carolina Medical Center campus as well as several residences and commercial properties. The purpose of this project is to prevent structural flooding and alleviate street flooding during significant storm events.

For this project, Armstrong Glen, P.C. is conducted a planning study and provided hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of the existing storm drain network, and will provide the design of a new system to serve this area. As part of this project, 1,800 linear feet of open channel was modeled. Also, over 20,000 linear feet of closed pipe system was modeled. This project also involves significant coordination with the homeowners and business owners impacted by this project. Additionally, special coordination with the hospital, Duke Energy Corporation, and Mecklenburg County is required due to extensive improvements on the hospital campus, along a electrical transmission line, and within a FEMA floodway.

This project is currently in the Design Phase.
