Armstrong Glen was responsible for design and specifications for Phase I of R.L. Smith District Park located in Mecklenburg County. The park will ultimately encompass 208 acres. Phase I covers approximately 28 acres and includes three soccer fields, a practice field, walking trails, a children’s play area, restroom facility, water and sewer service, irrigation, paved entrance road, and 130 paved parking spaces. Scope of work included: Storm drain analysis and design, design of a 30 foot tall retaining wall, entrance road design, and site utilities. Assistance with bidding and construction administration was also provided. Construction cost: $2,250,000.
