Located in Rock Hill, SC along Manchester Creek, the existing River Park bridge required replacement due to a damaged deck caused by continuous firetruck use.
For this project, Armstrong Glen, PC provided hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, roadway design, construction and bid documents, as well as vehicular bridge design. The new bridge spans seventy feet, and has a deck width of 18 feet. The deck section consists of a single 12 foot wide vehicle lane and a 5 foot wide pedestrian sidewalk. Cast-in-place concrete decking is supported on steel wide flange beams.
Construction costs for the bridge replacement was $368,000. Bridge construction was completed in 2009.
